Princess Cruise’s new ship, the Royal Princess, is coming in June of 2013, and with it comes some exciting new deck features that passengers are sure to enjoy. The fun starts with a water and light show on the top deck. The top deck includes a palm tree-lined “island” located between two pools of fresh water. On the island is an intricate fountain that has 85 jets, which shoot water more than 30 feet into the air. The water, however, is only one component of the exciting show, which also includes both light displays and sound from a sophisticated sound system. Similar shows have become quite popular in other venues, so the deck show on the new Royal Princess is sure to be a hit among passengers.

The water and light show is not the only exciting new feature that will be livening up the deck of the Royal Princess. The top deck includes the Sea Walk – this is a glass-bottomed walk that extends a full 28 feet past the starboard side of the ship. The Sea Walk rises 128 feet above the ocean. Passengers will be thrilled with the dramatic views of the sea from this attractive walkway. The SeaView Bar, located on the other side of the ship, also offers some thrilling views for passengers due to its positioning. The bar is built to extend over the waves, so the views for the guests are unique and stimulating.

Poolside movies under the stars are nothing new for cruise ships, but Princess intends to bring the experience to a whole new level with an outdoor viewing experience. The screen found at the Royal Princess’s poolside theater will be 30 percent larger than the screens found on older ships, making for a legitimate wide-screen viewing experience. The new screen will be combined with high-tech audio and video equipment that will really make the experience shine. Princess intends to use the theater to show not only movies, but also concerts and sports events.

As if all of that weren’t enough, the Royal Princess will be bringing their passengers “The Ultimate Deck Party.” This exciting experience will involve turning that palm tree-lined island found on the top deck into a dance floor for partying passengers. When the Royal Princess throws one of these Ultimate Deck Parties, a DJ will be present, but passengers will have to look up to find him – he’ll be high above the festivities, in a specially-made balcony built just for for that purpose.

Look for this incredible ship with all its new features next summer, when it will cruise the Mediterranean, or catch it in the fall when it heads out for the Eastern Caribbean.
